Publications

Among the Society's various activities stand numerous academic publications. These editions aim to highlight the cultural and historical identity of Thessaloniki as well as to emphasize the socio-historical aspects of entrepreneurship in the city.

The trimestrial cultural revue "Thessalonikeon Polis", as well as the five-volume work "The History of Entrepreneurship" are the cornerstones of the Society's publications.

Thessalonikeon Polis

Thessalonikeon Polis is a trimestrial cultural revue which contemplates the history, present and future of Thessaloniki. It covers various aspects of issues, such as history, archaeology, fine arts, environment, theatre, cinematography, music, architecture, poetry, literature, and the public life οf the city.

The History of Entrepreneurship

"History of Entrepreneurship" is a published work that approaches the phenomenon of entrepreneurship in Thessaloniki from the beginning of its history to 1940. The research method is anthropocentric. An effort was made to gather all the available evidence, from primary and secondary resources, to evaluate and cross authenticate them, as well as to outline - always based on the material available - the personalities of hundreds of individuals that practices any kind of enterprise in Thessaloniki. Apart from the studies included in the volumes, some important primary resources - dating back to the Ottoman period, mainly transaction and cadastral documents - were chosen to be included in this publication.
