Inaugural ceremony of Eco-Tales workshop

Northern Greece Entrepreneurs Cultural Society proudly welcomed citizens, representatives of the entrepreneurial and public life sectors, numerous professors of the academic society as well as young people at the official inaugural ceremony of the international research workshop between Columbia University and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The joint workshop aims to research and suggest ways of mild development and exploitation of the unique coastal area which stretches from the port of Thessaloniki to the 'Delta' system of Axios River. The area is protected by the Natura Network and Ramsar conditions, however has remained abandoned and extensively polluted for the past years. The workshop is initiated and sponsored by the Northern Greece Entrepreneurs Cultural Society.
The inaugural ceremony took place on Wednesday, 29 June 2011 at the crowded auditorium of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.

Professor Mark Wigley, Dean of Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation and Professor Beatriz Colomina, Founding Director of the Program in Media and Modernity at Princeton University, gave two very interesting lectures with the following subjects accordingly: "Utzon's wings: The Mythology of the Global Architect" and "Le Corbusier: Towards a New Posthuman Architect".
