Eco-Tales: The terra incognita of Thessaloniki’s sea line

 

EcoTales joint workshop between Columbia University and Aristotle University aims to research and suggest ways of mild development and exploitation of the area. During the workshop, the students will design and build a riverside fabricated structure that captures the essential idea of mild development for the protected area.

The proposals and conclusions deriving from the workshop and research will be presented at a special event and published in an edition.

The project is supervised and funded by Northern Greece Entrepreneurs Cultural Society as a contribution to the 100-year Independence anniversary of Thessaloniki in 2012.

Centre for Cultural Studies ‘Saints Cyrillos and Methodios’

The Centre for Cultural Studies "Saints Cyrillos and Methodios" ran from 1997 to 2005 within the framework of Northern Greece Entrepreneurs Cultural Society. The Centre functioned as a research project, which examined the influences of greek culture on foreign civilizations and especially on the slavic culture. The centre has organized international conferences and published special editions of high scientific importance.Professor Charalampos Papastathis served as Chairman of the Scientific Committee and Dr. Evaggelos Hekimoglou has served as Curator of Publications and Research.

The Centre for Cultural Studies ‘Saints Cyrillos and Methodios’ has published books in five languages (german, romanian, english, russian and greek). These books include a detailed appendix of all slavic manuscripts stored at the monasteries in Mount Athos, and a bibliographic index on Saints Cyrillos and Methodios, covering bibliography since the 19th century.
